Chemist and Druggist Award Winners

Our Community Education Providers Network pharmacy project won the Training and Development award at the 2016 Chemist and Druggist awards held on the 15th June 2016.

The project, now in its second year-established a scheme that organised and fully evaluated placements of pre-registration pharmacists into GP practices, which resulted in improved communications between the two professions, as well as a better understanding of the expertise they can each offer to patients. The pharmacists involved – drawn from a wide range of pharmacy businesses across Kent, Surrey and Sussex – were able to forge closer links with GP practices and there is now a group of newly qualified pharmacists who have a deeper understanding of how their GP colleagues operate.

Marc Miell - ‘Best Selfie’

The HEE KSS Pre-Reg Pharmacist Team and Kamsons Pharmacy was also a nominee for this category for their joint work on development of pre-registration training across the hospital and community sectors to standardise and enhance curricula and so improve collaborative working and patient care.

Some of the team attended the awards ceremony and we had a second win on the night – Marc Miell won the ‘Best Selfie’.
