Hello My Name Is...

Regional Induction Study Day

As part of the Regional Induction Study Day on 18th August 2016 for pre-registration trainee pharmacists in Kent, Surrey, Sussex, Hampshire and the Isle of Wight, the 2016-17 cohort pledged support to the #hellomynameis campaign.

The ‘hello my name is’ campaign was created by Dr Kate Granger MBE, a registrar in elderly medicine who had terminal cancer. Dr Granger started the campaign in August 2013 after she became frustrated with the number of staff who failed to introduce themselves to her when she was an inpatient.

Our new pre-reg pharmacists pledged to introduce themselves in future to their patients in support of the campaign. Dr Granger sadly died at the age of 34 on 23rd July 2016 after reaching her target of raising £250,000 for cancer charities.
